The Bible
The Bible is God’s Word. It’s true, trustworthy, and it’s how we know who God is and what He wants for our lives. It was written by people God inspired, and it all points to Jesus. We don’t add to it or take anything away from it.
God
There’s one God. He’s always existed—He wasn’t created. He knows everything, has all power, and rules over everything with wisdom and love. We were made to worship Him, follow Him, and put Him first in everything.
The Trinity
God is one, but He shows Himself in three ways: the Father, the Son (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit. They’re all fully God, working together perfectly.
God the Father
The Father is in charge of everything. He created the world and has a plan for it. He’s powerful, wise, loving—and He becomes a real Father to anyone who puts their faith in Jesus.
Jesus (God the Son)
Jesus is God who came to earth. He was born of a virgin, lived a perfect life, and then died on a cross for our sins. Three days later, He came back to life, proving He’s stronger than death. Now He’s in Heaven, but He lives in the hearts of believers. One day, He’ll return to judge the world and finish what He started.
The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is God’s presence living inside believers. He shows us right from wrong, helps us understand the Bible, gives us strength to grow, and equips us to serve. He’s the one who helps us become more like Jesus and reminds us that we belong to God.
People
God made people in His image—male and female—with purpose and value. But we’ve all sinned and fallen short. That sin separates us from God. We can’t fix that on our own—but God can. He made a way for us to be forgiven and made new through Jesus.
Salvation
Salvation means being saved from sin and made right with God. It’s a free gift you receive by trusting in Jesus—not something you earn.
Here’s what happens when someone truly believes:
You’re born again—God gives you a new heart and a fresh start.
You repent—You turn away from sin and toward God.
You believe—You trust Jesus to save you and lead your life.
You’re justified—God forgives you and sees you as clean.
You grow—The Holy Spirit helps you become more like Jesus.
You’re secure—Once you’re saved, you’re His forever.
Priesthood of the Believer
You don’t need a priest or a pastor to talk to God for you. If you follow Jesus, you can talk to Him directly, read His Word, and hear from Him yourself.
The Church
The Church isn’t just a building—it’s a family of people who follow Jesus. We worship together, grow in our faith, serve others, and tell the world about Jesus. We celebrate baptism and communion as reminders of what Jesus did for us.
End Times & Eternity
Jesus is coming back. When He does, He’ll judge the world. People who trusted Him will spend forever with Him in Heaven. Those who didn’t will be separated from Him forever. Until then, we live ready—and on mission.
At Church in the Country, we believe the Bible is true and Jesus is Lord. We stand firm on the core truths of the Christian faith—things like salvation through Christ, the authority of Scripture, and the power of the Holy Spirit. These are non-negotiable. But we also understand that Christians may see things differently when it comes to certain non-essential doctrines. We make room for personal conviction in areas like the end times, spiritual gifts, creation views, Christian freedoms, and the balance between free will and God’s sovereignty. We don’t divide over those—we give grace and encourage people to study God’s Word for themselves.
That said, we do take clear stands on cultural issues where Scripture is clear. We believe life begins at conception and are strongly pro-life. We hold to a biblical view of marriage as between one man and one woman, and we believe sexual activity belongs within that covenant. We believe God created two genders—male and female—and that your biological sex is your God-given identity. We stand firmly against racism and believe all people are made in God’s image. We also condemn all forms of abuse and are committed to protecting children. While we’re not political, we do call our people to live and vote according to biblical truth. In all things, we aim to be a church that speaks truth with love, stays grounded in God’s Word, and walks together in unity even when we don’t all see every detail the same.
